It's no longer rebellious

Hey all!  Just ran across this quote that I thought was worth sharing.

"Everyone is sinning, so it is no longer rebellious to sin." (Mark Driscoll)

God bless and veritas supra omnis!

Hmmm interesting thought; it reminds me of a verse I read this morning.
Psalms 12:8 "The wicked freely strut about when what is vile is honored among men."
Think about that very hard and it sure makes sense in today's world. So while I think I may have a few questions as to how biblically sound Driscoll's statement is across the board, he definitely has a point there!

Good verse! :-) I think, Hillary, that this comment was addressing the cultural aspect of rebellion and people doing something cool to be "different" and "rebellious" when the reality is that millions of other people are doing the exact same things. It's like one of my favorite sayings; "I'm special (or you're special)...just like everybody else". :-)

Ya, I see his point.
My thought was that if sin is rebellion against God then regardless if everyone is doing it or not is is still rebellious. I am not trying to be contrary, I just thought it when I read that and wondered.... :D I like his point though, even if it may not be theologically sound if one thinks about it too much!"

Ya I know that saying... A boy ruined my life once with that. Someone used that quote and he said " Well if EVERYONE is special than NOBODY is special!" I have never quite been the same... :(
